grand theft produce

So I assume most people have seen trailer park boys at least once.

Today I saw the Owen Sound version of something that happens in that show quite often. I drove up to zehrs and I saw a lady with some kids and a heaping cart full of groceries ram jamming them into her vehicle. I said to myself, "Self, that's a lot of groceries and she's brutalizing them, she must be frustrated trying to fit them in that vehicle."

Then I see one of the employees walking up to her so I figure oh that's nice he's going to help her. Hmm he doesn't seem to be helping and now she's hopping in her car and taking off. Weird.

As I'm walking up to the store I hear part of what the employee was saying to another one. "I walked up to her and I was like, you didn't pay for those did you and her daughter ran into the car and started it and she just took off but I got the license plate."

Crazy. This just reminded me of the Jon-o-vision guy from trailer park boys blatantly stealing groceries. That lady just had some straight up balls to be pulling that shit. Makes you wonder how many times she's done it before.

In other news I've been trying to be less of a jerk. It's not as easy as it sounds.

  1. I work at a church. People come to the door on almost a daily basis asking for food or money. That takes ball too.

Also... Jerk or not, I'm still going to have to punch you in the nose. Got an emoticon for that?

  2. I didn't mean it in a bad way about the having balls thing. Family first. Everyone eats. Then comes other stuff.

Mostly I wrote about it cause I was just naive to the whole thing. Didn't occur to me until I heard the guy talking what was going on.

    Broken nose emoticon... hmm

    :~( that I guess

You really do have a dislike for me lol :) I'm not evil! I swear!

  3. LOL. I don't have a dislike for you! Just nothing more than a 'we can still be friends' general appreciation. Even with the truck. :P

Nah, it wasn't your story - it was a good story! Very... it would only happen in Owen Sound, or on the Trailer Park Boys.

It just struck me that, as funny/odd/wrong as it was, she did it cause she was desparate. What does that say about our society?

The nose breaking thing... well, you pulled the hallmark crap - you knew what you were getting into! So... :~( Take that!
